Laughing Gulls on the dry Rio Tuito Photo by Peri
These gulls have just matured into their breeding plumage and are ready for their flight north. They migrated north within two weeks of the taking of this photo.
Green Heron (Butorides striatus)
It appears we have two pair of Green Heron in the lagoon this spring. The water is all but dried up and they are now further up river if not they have gone north. This bird has a wide and varied range from nw Canada to Argentina and is listed as accidental in Alaska.
